Ardabil Carpet Designs

Mahi Ardabil Rug Pattern

Mahi Persian Ardabil rug is one of the most original and widespread patterns of hand-woven rugs. Mahi is the Persian word for fish. So Mahi design carpets have fish-shaped figures that move and rotate around a tiny flower.

Mahi Persian Ardabil rug on carpet are matched with modern house’s living-rooms and bedrooms. Generally Mahi patterned carpets are matched with both modern homes and classic house design. Choosing this design is suitable for living rooms and high-traffic places.

The Mahi pattern is woven in two types: big and small. If you are interested in Mahi-designed rugs, you may be interested to know that this map can also be seen in Tabriz rugs, Hamadan rugs, Bijar rugs, Moud rugs, and Birjand rugs.

When you look at the context of the carpet, you feel like you are looking at a pond full of fish.

(A pond full of fish is one of the main characteristics of traditional houses and an essential part of authentic Persian architecture.)

Gheychi Quba design

This design is adapted from Caucasus and Shirvan designs, and it is almost a design that is woven only in Ardabil. This name is called because it resembles scissors (Gheychi is the Persian word for scissors). A flower is placed next to it, and the shape of the mirror is designed as one in the middle of the entire context of the carpet.

As you can see in the image above, the old scissors’ design is highlighted.

Ardabil Quba

This is a unique geometric design designed by a famous designer named BABA. This design goes well with modern decoration.

This design uses different geometric shapes and sometimes animals and humans.
